General Director Wim van de Waarsenburg introduces King Willem-Alexander to the world of mobile event marketing during the Grand Départ of the Tour de France in Utrecht.
After a tour by Mayor Jan van Zaanen and meeting the Tour Organisation in Utrecht, King Willem-Alexander spoke with Wim van de Waarsenburg about how Movico contributes to the execution of the Tour de France.
King Willem-Alexander was informed about how all participating hospitality units are assembled and disassembled every day and then transported to the next location. "It always turns out to be three intensive weeks that we spend the entire year preparing for and looking forward to," says Van de Waarsenburg. "The experience that Movico has gained over the past 20 years, as well as the trust that the Organisation places in Movico, is what turns this project into a success.
For some vehicles the technical aspects were specifically discussed, including the extension and retraction of the trailer. "Utrecht, together with the Netherlands as a whole, can be proud of the fact that a Dutch company makes such a large contribution to this world-class sports event and its festivities," the King said. After the meeting, the King was seated in the support vehicle to closely follow the time trial of Bram Tankink, a cyclist riding for Team LottoNL–Jumbo.
